ODJ (Our Daily Journey with God)
I must admit that I've not been doing QT for quite a LONG time.
Seriously, christian out there, I really need help to discipline to do QT regularly.
When you do QT, you find God speaking to you.

+get some sleep+
If you're not getting enough sleep, it makes you more
likely to be drowsy while driving, to be cranky and
irritable (just ask your friends), and even to eat more
than usual! That's what the National Sleep Foundation
discovered in one survey.
...
There can also be spiritual consequences. After the
disciples had eaten a Passover meal, they went for
a walk with Jesus. They may have thought it was just
another after-dinner stroll, but Jesus knew differently. He saw His death drawing
near and needed His friends to watch. Instead, they fell asleep. "And they didn't
know what to say" (Mark 14:40)
Imagine being in their place, looking into Jesus' eyes and knowing that you've
been neglecting Him because you've been just too tired. What would you say?

reality living
They call it "Reality TV," but it is anything but real.
Reality for most people is getting up early in the
morning, trying to get to school or work on time,
and attempting to carve out a decent life. It's schoolwork
or housework or keeping the car running or doing
errands. Reality is staying financially solvent and
spiritually vibrant.
In the reality, can you recall the last time you had to let
bugs crawl all over you or you ate a cockroach? Unless
you're a missionary in a developing nation, when was
the last time you had to survive in the jungle on roots and
stuff you found in a murky swamp?
AS we hear about people willingly taking part in these
weird activities under the label "Reality TV," we must
make sure we don't get a skewed view of life.
For believers in Jesus who want to love for Him, a clear
set of standards should guide our existance. First, we
are to love God with all our heart and love our neighbr
selflessly. We are not to use people for our personal
advancement. Second, we ar eto honor our bodies as
God's temple where in the Holy Spirit dwells. Third, we
are to practice love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Seeking guidance for a reality that pleases God? Look
at life through the lens of Colossians 3: 1-17
and you'll find a joy you'll never get from watching people eat bugs.
The reality of life is this: The closer we get Jesus, the more like Him we
become. That may not make very good "Reality TV," but it's definitely a reality
we can live.
Colossians 3: 1-17
Rules for Holy Living
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
