Sermon on 19 Oct 2008

posted by Chao Yi @ 7:47 AM
This week youth service speaker is JASPER Ong!
Hmmm, and he said a seriously encouraging story to encourage those people who are having their exam.

Okay, the story goes like this:
One mother wanted her little boy to be stir up the fire in the boy learning piano.
So she decided to bring him to a concert by a famous pianoist boroski(i dunno how to spell).

Finally, the night is going to be the concert.
The little boy followed the mother and entered the concert hall which is his first time.
When they reached the concert hall, the mother saw one of her classmate which she hadn't meet for a long time.
So she went forward and started chatting with the classmate.
The little boy being caurious, left his seat and went all the way to the stage and the backstage.
When he walked up the stairs, he saw a most beautiful paino he ever seen and he went and started playing.

The mother suddenly realise that her little boy was lost.
So looked high and low.
Suddenly, the curtain opened.
The mother saw her little boy sitting in the piano chair and he was playing twinkle twinkle little star.
In no time, the famous painoist is out and he walked forward the little boy and said to him, "boy, you may continue", and he smiled.
Then he placed his left and right hand beside the boy's hand and he started playing.
The audience was amazed by the music, it's like the most beautiful music they could ever heard.
The music was fill with boroski musicical talent and the innocent of the little boy.
Ever though it's just twinkle twinkle little stars, it amazed the audience.

Moral: Boroski is like God and the little boy is like us.
We play play twinke twinke little stars like we are having our exams.
But God will use His almighty hands and do the exam with you.
Why should we be afraid when we know God's there to be with us.
When we do our part, God will do the rest.
All the best to those who are having 'O' level.

Haha, encouraging neh? Even though i'm not having exam, I was seriously inspired.
The story is roughly like that, hope it's right.
Haha, readers! Have a nice day!

Extracted From ODJ

ODJ (Our Daily Journey with God)

I must admit that I've not been doing QT for quite a LONG time.
Seriously, christian out there, I really need help to discipline to do QT regularly.

When you do QT, you find God speaking to you.
Like,
Saturday October 11
+get some sleep+
If you're not getting enough sleep, it makes you more
likely to be drowsy while driving, to be cranky and
irritable (just ask your friends), and even to eat more
than usual! That's what the National Sleep Foundation
discovered in one survey.
...
There can also be spiritual consequences. After the
disciples had eaten a Passover meal, they went for
a walk with Jesus. They may have thought it was just
another after-dinner stroll, but Jesus knew differently. He saw His death drawing
near and needed His friends to watch. Instead, they fell asleep. "And they didn't
know what to say" (Mark 14:40)
Imagine being in their place, looking into Jesus' eyes and knowing that you've
been neglecting Him because you've been just too tired. What would you say?

reality living
They call it "Reality TV," but it is anything but real.
Reality for most people is getting up early in the
morning, trying to get to school or work on time,
and attempting to carve out a decent life. It's schoolwork
or housework or keeping the car running or doing
errands. Reality is staying financially solvent and
spiritually vibrant.
In the reality, can you recall the last time you had to let
bugs crawl all over you or you ate a cockroach? Unless
you're a missionary in a developing nation, when was
the last time you had to survive in the jungle on roots and
stuff you found in a murky swamp?
AS we hear about people willingly taking part in these
weird activities under the label "Reality TV," we must
make sure we don't get a skewed view of life.
For believers in Jesus who want to love for Him, a clear
set of standards should guide our existance. First, we
are to love God with all our heart and love our neighbr
selflessly. We are not to use people for our personal
advancement. Second, we ar eto honor our bodies as
God's temple where in the Holy Spirit dwells. Third, we
are to practice love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Seeking guidance for a reality that pleases God? Look
at life through the lens of Colossians 3: 1-17
and you'll find a joy you'll never get from watching people eat bugs.
The reality of life is this: The closer we get Jesus, the more like Him we
become. That may not make very good "Reality TV," but it's definitely a reality
we can live.

Colossians 3: 1-17
Rules for Holy Living
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Situation:
If one day you found some money on the floor, what will you do?

posted by Chao Yi @ 11:37 PM
Sorry dear readers once again for not updating recently.
Haha, it's really hard to get infront of the laptop and start posting about LIFE.
As words cannot fully describe life in just a few sentences.
But today, i decided to take some time and post a post XD

Firstly, I would like to post about one of my happiest day.
My 3rd month anniversary XD (4th October 2008)
Lets start off with some photo taken during that wonderful day.

We both had subway =) 1st time trying out the food there.

Oh Crap! I dropped my meat ball T_T/CANDID SHOT XD

Sofia Dear holding a gift for me =D/My gift to her (a difference between nice photo and ugly photo) P.S. if you say the left is the ugly photo, you must be BLIND XD

After a wonderful meal at Subway, we decided to go Golden Village to try to catch a movie.
The journey to GV isn't easy.
Sofia had a tough time fighting her way through the crowd in the tight heels and ended up with a painful leg.
So we decieded to go toilet so that she can change her shoe and I can do my BIG business.
Sad thing is there's no movie for us at GV.
So we decided to travel all the way back to Jurong and headed to West Mall to try our luck.
But once again, there's no movie for us.
So we decided to go shopping and spend sometime looking for something that we decided to get during our 2nd month anniversary.
But no luck, and now we still searching for that right one.
Time up! and sofia gotta go to her grandmother house as she's supposed to.
But something cropped up, I fell SICK!!!
Haha, my wonderful "nurse" healed me and prayed for me =D
Thank you DEAR! =)

Sicked Chaoyi taken by a professional PHotographer =)/ another photo taken by SD

Loyalties

posted by Chao Yi @ 1:21 AM
Through winds and storms, trials and obstacle.
Like rocks burning in flaming fire, which makes it strong and firms.
It's really never easy to bring such a big group of people together.
But somehow we make it.
Loyalties consisting of 10 members (including you yi xiang, you are part of us)
We shed, tears, sweat and (blood?) together haha.
10 people, it's not easy.
Just abit of faith in one another, i believe we will be great friend of one another.
Though, times we fall, but i believe we will raise again, believing that we are special.

I looked at the past videos and posts.
Memories of loyalties, make me unknowingly smiled.
It's not easy, but we made it.
Ithiel, Chao Yi, Sofia, Siang Hoon, Tze Xin, Krystal, Mabel, Yi Lin, Hui Lin.
Welcome Yi Xiang XD
